Registration

  • Wait until you receive an email from your regional contest 
  • Do not register a new account. Login using the same username and password you used for the regional contest 
  • Payment Options
  • Select Paying with Credit Card
    • Payment can be selecting the " Connect to Stripe" account.
  • Select Paying by Check
    • Click on the “Generate Invoice” button
    • Confirm the information is accurate and print this invoice
    • Make check out to Fenimore Art Museum
    • Mail the invoice, along with the check, to: Meg Preston, New York History Day, P.O. Box 800, Cooperstown, NY 13326                                                                                                     
  • Select Paying with a Purchase Order
    • Click on the “Generate Invoice” button
    • Confirm the information is accurate and print this invoice
    • Present this invoice to the school or paying organization’s finance office to create a purchase order and cut the check.
    • Mail the invoice, along with the check, to: Meg Preston, New York History Day, P.O. Box 800, Cooperstown, NY 13326                                                                                                     

Submission guidelines for project categories

Historical Paper

  • What to submit before contest day:
    • Upload a PDF of your paper by April 8, 2019. Please rename your file with LastName_Division_School.pdf
  • Contest day requirements
    • Four copies of your paper

Documentary

  • What to submit before contest day:
    • Using the link to a SmugMug room that will be emailed to you by April 5, 2019 – Upload your documentary using the guidelines in the email. The submission deadline is 12:00am (midnight) April 8, 2019.
  • Contest day requirements:
    • Four (4) copies of your process paper and bibliography
    • Although judges will review your documentary before the contest, you will be required to show your documentary to judges on contest day. You should bring your documentary on DVD and flash drive. The recomended file type is mp4.  A monitor and DVD player will be provided.  It is recommended that you bring your own laptop as a precautionary measure.

Website

  • What to submit before contest day:
    • All website entries must be created using the NHD Web Portal (nhd.weebly.com) and be completed by April 8, 2019.
    • Websites will be closed for editing on April 8, 2019 for review by judges
  • Contest day requirements
    • Four (4) paper copies of your process paper and bibliography
    • Although judges will review your website before the contest, you will be required to show your website to judges on contest day. You should bring a laptop to view your website.  A monitor will be provided.

Exhibit

    • Four (4) printed copies of your process paper and bibliography
    • Your exhibit project MUST BE SET UP BY 9:00AM.

Performance

  • What to submit before contest day

  • Contest day requirements
    • Four (4) printed copies of your process paper and bibliography
    • Any props needed for your performance
    • Each performance room will have a folding table and chair. All other props must be provided by participants.
  • When you arrive at New York History Day, you must also register on-site at the Main Barn of The Farmers’ Museum to receive your final judging schedule and other important information. On-site registration will be held Sunday, April 28, 3:00 pm - 7:30 pm and Monday, April 29, 7:00 am - 12:00 noon.
